About the event

Join Borderlands Resource Initiative to build the skills and connections needed to take action right here in our community. Learn how to plug into local immigrant defense efforts by providing direct, practical support through immigration court and ICE check-in accompaniment, detention visits, pro se legal support, and other community-led initiatives.

Participants will learn how to show up safely, consistently, and with purpose; provide practical assistance and a steady, supportive presence; and understand the different roles volunteers can play in meeting the immediate needs of immigrant neighbors and families.

Whether you're ready to accompany someone to court, support a neighbor navigating the immigration system, or contribute your time to local defense efforts, there is a role for you in this work.

No prior experience is required!

Get trained, plug in, and help build a stronger local community defense network.
